E-8 Photos
A special chartered passenger train, pulled by 2 fully restored Pennsylvania Railroad E-8's passed through Crestline on Aug. 2, 2004. Owned by Bennett Levin of Philadelphia, the E-8 diesel engines were returning from TrainFest 2004 in Dennison, Ohio.
We captured a few photos of this rare event, and are pleased to post them on our site. Below are the first in a series we are thrilled to present. Just click on the images for a larger view.

The "Pennsylvania" was the personal car of PRR president Walter S. Franklin.
|
The special excursion train pulled 10 privately owned cars.
|

Each E-8 had 2,225 horsepower.
|

Only 74 of that brand of engine were built

The E-8's were built by the Electro Motive division of General Motors
